What Should You Expect When You Start Care With Us? No Surprises!

Simply put, your health and well-being are our top priorities! Your care is our passion, and we believe it should be treated with the utmost importance. Every aspect of what we do is designed to support you in reaching your full potential, achieve maximum results, and experiencing life at its best!

Your First Visit

The purpose of your first visit is to find the underlying cause of your health concerns. We do this by examining your spine and nervous system health. Your first visit will include a complete health history, full examination, computerized nerve function test, and spinal X-rays (if needed). Our examination is geared toward detection and correction of “Vertebral Subluxation”.

Your examination will consist of a spinal and nervous system evaluation which includes palpation. Palpation is checking your spine by hand. With this exam the doctor can assess areas of your spine that may be involved with subluxation problems. Spinal position, curvatures, and muscle tone can also be examined as it relates to possible spinal subluxations.

Your examination will also include a computerized nerve function test. This examination involves several important components. The first part of this examination process involves reading spinal thermal (heat) differences from one level of the spine to another, as well as from one side of the spine to the other. Heat is a byproduct of circulation, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. The second part of this examination scans and measures the surface of your spine for surface electrical impulses. This is called the Surface EMG. The Surface EMG helps us measure the effect of subluxations on your motor nerve system and your muscles. It is important to note that this examination helps us scientifically evaluate your nervous system health. It also gives us a baseline for future tests, which will be done periodically during your care. This allows us to accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning

X-raysSpinal X-Rays - If Needed

X-rays may be recommended based on your age, condition, and specific needs. They play a crucial role in identifying vertebral subluxations and assessing your spinal health. However, there are instances where X-rays may not be taken, such as during pregnancy, for most young children, if recent spinal X-rays are available, or in certain unique cases.

Spinal X-rays provide valuable insights, including the alignment of your spinal bones, the overall condition of your spine, and the safety considerations for adjustments. They also help us estimate how long certain spinal conditions may have been developing. Typically, patients receive up to four spinal X-rays during their initial visit. Follow-up comparison X-rays may be taken later to assess progress and refine your care plan.

With this detailed information, we can create a customized care plan, determining the precise adjustments and care frequency you need. During your Report of Findings, we’ll thoroughly explain your results and discuss the next steps in your journey to better spinal health.

Adjustment Visits

At Rouskas Family Chiropractic, we deliver individualized scientific chiropractic adjustments designed to correct the specific subluxations we have found in your spine. We consider subluxations to be a serious threat to your health and quality of life.

We also understand that your time is valuable. This is why we have streamlined our office procedures to minimize the time spent in our office on your adjustment visits. With that being said, we do not rush your care. Our office procedures ensure that your visits are complete and brief. On most visits, you can expect to spend only about 5 to 10 minutes in our office. Of course if more time is needed, we will do whatever it takes to help you!
